Tongue is a Powerful Weapon

I always feels bad whenever I hear some parents placing curses on their own child or children, how on Earth could you have done such.

Have they forgotten that tongue being the smallest part of the body,is very powerful and can be so dangerous as well..

Let’s be careful on how we use our tongue because it is a powerful weapon can can protect and destroy..

Ways to control our tongue

1. Not every thought needs to be expressed.

In a world that tells us to use our voice, and we have a right to be heard, proverb 10:19, tells a different story.

“To much talk leads to sin.

Be sensible and keep your mouth shut”.

It’s easy to get caught up in debates. We’re passionate about something, and we think of we just explain things a bit more, surely the person we’re debating will finally get it. Again, Proverbs offers a different perspective.

“Don’t waste your breath on fools, for they will despise the wisest advice”.

There is something to be said for saying nothing. Silence can be powerful.

There’s a saying that silence is the best answer for a fool.

2. There is power in out words.

Have you ever had a tough day when you run into someone who tells you how great you look? Kind words soothe a soul.

What about on that same hard day when someone cut you with a snide comment? Harsh words cut like a knife.

Proverbs agrees

” The words of the godly are a life-giving foundation;

the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions.”

” Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit”.

” Some people make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise bring healing.

Proverbs 18:22 says ” Death and life at in the power of the tongue”. The tongue can be used as a weapon to harm and destroy or as tool to build and heal. What kind of impacts do your words have?

Have you make or destroy someone with your words… Remember that words spoken can never be taken, learn to be positive with your words..
